Induction Sealer Introduction
Induction sealing is a simple and effective method of bottle sealing. The induction sealer (otherwise known as a bottle sealer, cap sealer, foil sealer, heat sealer or induction sealing machine) bonds an aluminium foil across the container neck which:
- prevents product leakage.
- provides tamper evidence.
- gives improved shelf life due to the excellent barrier properties of the foil and its airtight seal onto the container.
- improves pack presentation and customer acceptance.
Bottles are filled and capped with a plastic closure containing an aluminium foil liner. These capped bottles are then placed under the induction sealer, either manually, in the case of hand held or semi automatic bottle sealers, or by passing down a conveyor in automatic systems.
The induction sealer transmits electromagnetic energy to the foil liner, causing it to become hot and weld itself across the container neck. When the cap is removed, the aluminium foil remains on the container neck providing a leak tight seal.

Please note that the hand held and semi automatic sealers are simple ‘plug in and go’ units, which we export worldwide, but the fully automatic induction sealers are normally only supplied into the UK.
Hand held induction sealers
We offer a choice of two portable ‘hand held’ bottle sealers, ideal for laboratory, test and QA use, as well as small production runs. These are very easy to operate, simply place the sealing head on top of the capped bottle, set the cycle time and press the button to seal the bottle.
Our CAPSolutions hand held INDUCTION CAPSEALER model 500HA is a compact 500w unit of modern design with touch sensitive controls and digital display. Operation is by a press button on the sealing head and a timer control which is adjustable in 0.1 second intervals. It gives excellent results on caps from 10mm to 70mm diameter and is available at a very competitive price.
The new Pillar hand held sealer is also very compact and simple to operate. It can seal caps up to 120mm diameter, through a choice of 2 sealing heads, and it’s output is adjustable on power as well as time.
Semi automatic table top sealer
CAPSolutions semi automatic sealer INDUCTION CAPSEALER Model 550SA is ideal for small to medium volume batch production as well as laboratory use as above.
The power supply, sealing head and controls are all mounted on an adjustable height stand. The construction is very robust and ensures that the sealing head is parallel to the cap and in the same position each time. A hand wheel is used for accurate height adjustment and a digital counter records the position. An adjustable cradle locates the bottle under the sealing head. These features give accurate and repeatable positioning of the bottle under the sealer for consistent results.
A sensor is available which automatically detects when the bottle is in place and starts the sealer for a predetermined time or a foot pedal control can be used. These allow fast, single handed operation and outputs of up to 1,000 bottles per hour are possible.
Automatic induction sealers
At the top of our range, we offer the fully automatic in-line ITW Pillar UNIFOILER™ 1kW, 2kW, 4kW and 6kW induction sealing machines.
These top quality, well proven machines are used throughout the world in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, medical device, chemical, food, beverage, dairy and health & beauty industries.
UNIFOILER™ induction sealers are offered with a variety of options including comprehensive detection packages, reject mechanism, auto coil lift, coil position indicator, IQ/OQ validations and much more. They can be supplied on a portable trolley to offer up to your existing conveyor, can be bolted to your conveyor or we can supply the full system including the conveyor.
All UNIFOILER™ induction sealers are air cooled. They are less than 1/2 the size of water-cooled systems and eliminate the filters, hoses, pumps, radiators, flow switches, water and mess associated with water cooling. They have fewer parts which means less chance of failure and virtually no maintenance.
